AMY HUTCHINGS CASTING
Amy Hutchings is the first person that I call if I ever have background needs in the Hudson Valley or NYC - without question. From NASA scientists in Orange County to strippers in Manhattan I can count on Amy to instill confidence that exactly what the director has asked for will be there on set. We also use Amy to consult on the feasibility of certain script ideas when we’re determining a production’s budget and plan i.e. can we find 3 month old twins in NYC to play a Haitian baby that’s heavily featured in an indie film? Amy will have answers in 24 hours. We trust her immensely and would highly recommend her to anyone in need of extras casting in New York City and in her real area of expertise, the Hudson Valley.
― Matt Parker, Producer, “Beasts of the Southern Wild”
I could not dream of ever hiring anyone else for background casting. Amy brings an unparalleled level of passion and diligence to every project, and takes her job very seriously, as the one who is tasked with filling a scene with interesting faces. She has an incredible talent for translating exactly what the director wants to the screen, while always staying on top of the extensive logistics that accompany her job. Amy brings her optimism and indefatigable nature to every film, and I have never heard her say any request is impossible. She always puts in the extra hours to pull off miracles, and she does so with a smile. Amy is a delight to work with, and I'm so glad that I have found her as a collaborator.
― Carly Hugo, Producer “Bachelorette”
"I've worked with Amy for over five years and we've made many movies together.Amy is a joy to work with, very experienced, and most of all a great collaborator.
― Jonathan Burkhart, Producer ”Almost There”
Amy is professional and caring, walking the line between ensuring her actors are respected and treated well, while giving the producers and directors qualified, responsible background talent. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire her for any of my projects.
